As might be expected, Dennett's multiple drafts theory of consciousness is not the last word on the phi phenomenon. Selmer Bringsjord, for example, has put forth a computational account of the phi phenomenon

You might also want to compare Dennett's multiple drafts theory with William Calvin's "scenario spinning" model of consciousness. See The Cerebral Symphony: Seashore Reflections on the Structure of Consciousness, (New York: Bantam, 1989).

The experiments of Kolers and von Grunau are reported in "Shape and Color in Apparent Motion," Vision Research, 16, 1976, pp. 329-335.
