Educational applications of computer technology, especially using computers to teach logic; philosophy of science; philsophy of education; philosophy of technology.
Current Projects
- Building an intelligent tutoring system for deductive proof construction (Co-investigator: Dr. Tiffany Barnes, Dept of Computer Science)
- Development of web based materials for teaching cognitive science.
- Interface design for deductive proof construction.
- Assessing the promise of Distance Education.

- 1983: National Endowment for the Humanities Grant ($2,700), Summer Seminar at the University of Maryland, College Park, on the philosophical implications of cognitive science.
- 1990: Principal Investigator, National Science Foundation Grant (Ethics and Values Studies in Science Program), "The Bearing of Computer Technology on Human Interaction and Individualization in Education," ($91,013).
- 1991: Selected as one of the most successful CAI projects in the USA and Canada in a competition sponsored by EDUCOM (The Joe Wyatt Challenge).
