Contemporary Philosophy

Phil 3214 provides an introduction to academic philosophy as practiced in Europe, the United States, Canada and Australia in the twentieth century. It also serves as an introduction to several of the department's upper division courses. Not in the sense of being essential but in the sense of providing a way into American Philosophy, Existentialism, Philosophy of Mind and various topics courses. Here is the syllabus for that course.

This web page also serves as a launching site for papers by my colleagues that they wish to make available to their students, such as one by Prof. Richard Toenjes.
